Development studio Saber Interactive has hit a groove with its lineup of open-world vehicle simulators MudRunner and SnowRunner. Now the development house is harkening back to its MudRunner IP with Expeditions: A MudRunner Game, which will take expert automobile handlers to locales based in Little Colorado, Arizona, and the Carpathian Mountains in Central Europe. Instead of being tasked with transporting precious cargo, the main premise here is to embark on scientific expeditions while making use of essential tools such as jackscrews, metal detectors, camera drones, and a sonar detector to perform several helpful actions. Make your way through harsh roads, manage & improve your base camp, and make the best of your research-filled adventures across a vast wilderness.

On May 18, 2023, developer Red Barrels released the latest entry in its Outlast survival horror series via Early Access for The Outlast Trials. In the months since its launch, new updates in the form of additional "Weekly Programs," "MK Challenges," trial maps, and limited-time events have greatly improved the overall experience for its loyal player base. The main premise of this first-person psychological horror survival experience is all about a single survivor or up to four co-op players trying their damdest to complete a series of taxing trials within a panic-inducing facility. With the crazed Murkoff overseeing those trials, you'll need to steer clear or sneakily eliminate the crazies that stalk around his twisted space and make sure your allies are healed enough to "outlast" each trial.

With a new year always comes an avalanche of the latest iterations in annual sports gaming IPs. We're going to move into the sports entertainment realm to enter the digital squared circle for this year's installment of WWE-themed professional wrestling antics. WWE 2K24 is building upon the well-received WWE 2K23 by featuring over 200 wrestlers, adding in new match types such as the Ambulance Match, providing three- to four-player backstage assaults, and increasing the drama of matches via the new "Super Finisher" & "Trading Blows" maneuvers. This year's Showcase is centered around the most historic matches in WrestleMania history, so you'll get to play out the exciting events that transpired during matches such as Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes at 'Mania 39. With all the usual bells & whistles that come with your usual WWE simulator and so much more, WWE 2K24 is setting itself up to be a bonafide main eventer this year.

While Mega Man fans patiently await an announcement of a twelfth game in the mainline series and a ninth Mega Man X game, there are plenty of spiritual successors to enjoy in the meantime. The Azure Striker Gunvolt games are a quality example of what we're talking about, of course. But there is a brand new Mega Man-like release set to come your way and it looks to be one of the best yet. Berserk Boy is a retro "Metroidvania" experience blessed with gorgeous pixel art, tons of action-packed sequences, and an incredible soundtrack (thanks to the work of Sonic Mania composer Tee Lopes!). With the elemental powers afforded to you by Lightning, Fire, Ice, Air, and Earth, you'll push Kei and his superheroic alter-ego "Berserk Boy" against Dr. Genos and his evil army of "Dark Energy" underlings. Fast-paced platforming and stylish action should come together wonderfully in this retro-stylized platformer.

The one thing everyone takes away from their time playing a game developed by Vanillaware is just how visually distinct its titles are. Real-time strategy gems such as GrimGrimoire and 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, plus quality action RPGs Odin Sphere and Dragon's Crown owe their creation to the lauded Japanese developer. Now Vanillaware is ready to unleash its latest project, a tactical role-playing game curiously named Unicorn Overlord. You'll spend your time playing as Alain, an exiled prince from the kingdom of "Fevrith," who must gather the troops to take back his homeland from the evil "Zenoiran Empire" commanded by General Valmore. Fans of Fire Emblem should keep a close eye on this one as it replicates the same gameplay loop that entails moving your troops across a vast battlefield and engaging in combat when two units come into contact. With over 60 characters to train and bring into battle with you, you'll have plenty of options to consider during your heroic crusade.

Mention the game Contra around anyone 30 and up and they'll recount their warmest memories of running & gunning down their enemies with the famous "Spread Gun." The series had been on a long hiatus until developer WayForward (makers of the Shantae platforming series) shocked everyone by revealing its plans to create a reimagining of the NES original that harkens back to the franchise's side-scrolling mayhem. Contra: Operation Galuga lets you shoot down the opposition with a local friend in its Story Mode and three players in its Arcade Mode - you and your fellow "Contra" unit allies will need to put your firearms to great use to take down the sinister "Red Falcon" terrorist organization. Returning heroes Major Bill Rizer and Major Lance Bean will now be joined by Ariana, Lucia, Lt. Stanley Ironside, and Probotector as they look to liberate the "Galuga Archipelago" from its captors.

In the year of our lord 2024, the first two Star Wars Battlefront games are getting packaged together in one of the most jaw-dropping game compilations we've ever come across. What blows our minds the most about this out-of-nowhere rerelease is its arrival with new content in the form of additional maps & characters. The first Battlefront is set to receive the new battlefield "Jabba’s Palace," while the sequel will introduce two new playable characters (Asajj Ventress and Kit Fisto) and some extra maps of its own. You'll now be exchanging laser gunfire, swinging your "Lightsaber," and soaring through the skies as you engage in battles across "Bespin: Cloud City," "Rhen Var: Harbor," "Rhen Var: Citadel," and "Yavin 4: Arena." 64-player online multiplayer should keep you and your fellow Star Wars aficionados busy during hectic matches contested in the "Galactic Conquest" and "Hero Assault" modes. By the way, Hero Assault can now be played on all ground maps for the first time!

For any of our old-head gamers reading this right now, we're sure your jaw is on the floor while looking at this latest entry on our list of the biggest March 2024 video game releases. For those who don't know, this game is a sequel to one of the oldest open-world gaming pioneers that originally launched in 1999. If you played Outcast back then, then make sure you jot down the release date for its surprising follow-up Outcast: A New Beginning. For this new series entry, players will make their way across the expansive alien planet of "Adelpha" and help its locals defend themselves against a race of invading robots. Jetpack joyriding and laser shootouts shall commence when the time comes for you to wipe out the mechanical menace that constantly threatens you. Seeing as how the original game's developers reunited to create this sequel, fans should rest easy knowing it's in the right hands. We're pretty excited to find out what else this game's massive open world has for us to discover.

We couldn't believe our eyes when MLB The Show 21 made its way over to non-Sony PlayStation consoles as it marked the first time the series became playable on Xbox hardware. We were even more shocked to see MLB The Show 22 mark the first time the franchise made an appearance on the Nintendo Switch! Now with all console "bases" covered for the series, we're heading into the ninth inning for the release of MLB The Show 24. With Toronto Blue Jays first baseman and designated hitter Vladimir Guerrero Jr. donning its cover, this latest series installment is going big with a "Storylines" mode centered around The Negro Leagues Season 2 and the great Derek Jeter. Alongside those new history-themed campaigns, MLB The Show 24 will also arrive with refined visuals and the return of fan-favorite legacy modes (we're talking "Diamond Dynasty," "March to October," "Road to the Show," and "Franchise").

Before Capcom ruled the survival horror genre with Resident Evil, Infogrames kicked it all off with its introduction of Alone in the Dark. Since the trend of video game remakes has breathed new life into RE and Dead Space, it comes as no surprise to see THQ Nordic and Pieces Interactive trying their hand at doing the same for the first Alone in the Dark game. This 2024 rendition is being presented as a reimagining of the 1992 original and will feature the likeness/voice acting talents of Jodie Comer (who's playing Emily Hartwood) and David Harbour (who's playing private investigator Edward Carnby). Both characters will find themselves trapped within the "Derceto Manor," a home for the mentally fatigued, while on a mission to investigate the disappearance of Jeremy Hartwood (who happens to be Emily's uncle). Survival horror fans should expect the usual traits of the sub-genre to be represented here - shooting down nightmare-inducing creatures from a behind-the-back third-person viewpoint, solving intricate puzzles, and being involved in a trippy storyline should do enough to lift this Alone in the Dark remake to a high level of quality.

This sequel to Capcom's triumphant take on the medieval fantasy realm has been a long time coming. Ever since director Hideaki Itsuno finished his work on Devil May Cry 5 and its Special Edition, he's dedicated his life to making Dragon's Dogma 2 the action RPG everyone needs to play in 2024. Just like the first game, players will step into the role of an "Arisen" and seek out the dragon who is responsible for ripping out your heart. With your AI-controlled "Pawns" at your side, you'll run around fantastical lands and engage in epic clashes with all manner of mythological beasts. When it comes to debuting "Vocations" battle classes, you'll be able to step into the role of a "Mystic Spearhand," "Trickster," and "Warfarer". Dragon's Dogma 2 looks to bring the series into the current generation with a medieval fantasy experience that could rival those of The Elder Scrolls franchise.

We've waited far too long to see our girl Princess Peach get the spotlight placed on her in a superstar adventure of her own! We enjoyed every minute of 2005's Super Princess Peach and we're expecting to get a kick out of everything Princess Peach: Showtime! has in store for us. While attending a performance at the "Sparkle Theater," everything goes awry once a mysterious masked villain named Wicked Grape and her acting troupe the "Sour Bunch" disrupt all the proceedings. Peach links up with the theater's guardian Stella to bring order back to the establishment and save the day with the aid of transformations that grant her useful abilities. For instance, "Dashing Thief Peach" can hack & sneak, "Cowgirl Peach" can toss & grab her enemies with a lasso, and "Kung Fu Peach" can use a combination of lethal jabs & kicks to knock out the opposition.

Team Ninja has gained a ton of credibility among fans of action games thanks to the work it has done on the Ninja Gaiden series, the Nioh franchise, and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. The next release set to come from the Japanese development studio is yet another action-packed experience. But this time, it features a larger scope as it's centered within an open world set in Edo during the late 19th century during Bakumatsu. As a masterless warrior, you'll find yourself caught up in the turmoil that breaks out between the Tokugawa Shogunate and various anti-shogunate factions who are displeased with the Western influence brought upon Japan after the Sakoku period. You can head out on your own or fight alongside three other co-op allies as you embark on assassination missions that will decide the fate of Japan during one of its most tumultuous periods.

Remember those awesome days back in your childhood when all the schools were closed due to a severe snowstorm? As kids, we all looked forward to heading outside and spending hours getting into heated snow fights with all of our buds. South Park: Snow Day! goes all in on that nostalgic childhood premise via a game where warring neighborhood factions go to war. On your own, with bots, or with three online allies, you'll bring the fight to the other little brats that inhabit your small town that's encased in tons of snow. You'll need to make good use of your melee and ranged weaponry to come out on the winning end of epic clashes between rival groups. Snow-based warfare and all the potty-mouthed kids at the heart of those struggles look and sound like a fun proposition for fans of the long-running South Park series. We can't wait to throw on a "Cheesy Poof" T-shirt and wreak havoc right alongside the homies Cartman, Stan, Kenny, and Kyle!

We have to hand it to publisher Devolver Digital for always taking a chance on the games that other big-name studios would probably pass on. Its next release is going the retro platforming route and it looks like it'll be the perfect game to play if you're a fan of side-scrolling adventures. Pepper Grinder stars a lady pirate named Pepper, who sets out to retrieve the treasure stolen from her by the mischievous "Narlings." While moving through this game's pixelated locales, you can get around in a hurry using Pepper's "Grinder" tool. This device lets players drill right through their enemies, burrow right into pools of water & solid terrain, and control any machines they may come across during their journey. Pepper Grinder wears its old-school charm on its sleeve and we can't wait to take it for a spin.

What's even more mindblowing over that fact is how that game is attached to a classic Nickelodeon cartoon. This is Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland, a simple side-scrolling platformer that features the famous gang of babies that fans still love to this day. After seeing a commercial for an all-new game starring their favorite giant lizard Reptar, Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, and Lil use their imagination to place themselves in a game-inspired world of their own. What follows is a wild trek through Tommy's house that turns it into a den of fun & creativity. You can enjoy this Rugrats adventure in its 8-bit form or modern form that sports animated visuals that are on par with the cartoon's visual design.
