Weston McKennie Cards: The Top 10 to Store in the eBay Vault

To kick this list off, we have what many consider to be McKennie’s true rookie card. The 2018 Topps Chrome UEFA features a simple yet crisp design, and the product also contains superstar rookies of Jadon Sancho and Joáo Felix. #83 in the set shows a young Weston McKennie in acrobatic fashion.

This particular copy, the gold refractor, is limited to a print run of just 50. It has sold for as high as $2,900, but currently trades in the $1,000 range. 

The Rated Rookie emblem is one that transcends all sports. From Ken Griffey Jr. to Luka Doncic, the RR logo can be seen everywhere in The Hobby. Soccer is no exception. The 2018 Weston McKennie shown above is an orange parallel numbered to 99 copies. The card shows the young midfielder in action for the USMNT during an exhibition. 

This slab last sold for $690 in June; with its low print run, it will be hard to find one in that coveted PSA 10 grade. However, other graded copies are available for sale on eBay. We’d recommend any of these numbered Optic rookies for the eBay vault.

Third, we have what is likely the toughest grade on this list. Cards with a thicker stock, such as Immaculate, National Treasures and Flawless, are notoriously difficult to grade. So, seeing this true RPA of the Juventus star in a Gem Mint 10 made us immediately add it to the list.

McKennie’s Immaculate RPA is a mere POP 2 as a PSA 10, but any graded copy of this card will look great vaulted.

This has to be the most visually striking card on this list. The blue wave autograph from 2018 Topps Chrome Bundesliga shows McKennie playing for his former team: FC Schalke 04.

While there are only 75 of these stunners in circulation, we’ve seen them trade multiple times in both a PSA 9 and BGS 9.5 grade. They range from $400-$800 now, but those prices could increase exponentially if McKennie can excel in Qatar.

Next up is another marvelous parallel from 2018 Donruss Optic. This low-numbered red velocity copy perfectly contrasts the USMNT jersey, and it has a recent sale of only $412 from November. Compared to the prices of other World Cup stars, this seems like a steal. If you can pick one of these up graded, it becomes another worthy candidate for the vault.

The 2022 Prizm World Cup set is still hitting hobby shops nationwide, but it will no doubt be collected for years to come. Certain hits from the 2014 and 2018 products have reached record sales for modern soccer cards, so who knows what’s in store.

This year’s boxes are the first soccer cards to feature the manga case hit, which draws inspiration from the popular Japanese art form. The insert was first featured in 2021 Prizm Football, and players like Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes were quick to reach five-figure prices. 

If you can find a clean, raw copy of this stunning McKennie insert, we recommend slabbing it and sending it right to your eBay vault.

The Panini Treble set may not have the popularity of Prizm or Topps Chrome, but it features rookies of several prominent soccer superstars. Furthermore, the one and only Treble product released in 2018, so finding these in the wild can be difficult. Be on the lookout for any numbered McKennie rookies from Panini Treble as we approach World Cup season.

We talked about the Rated Rookie influence earlier—coupling that with a signature gives the card even more appeal. There are only four of the  PSA 10 copies shown above, but PSA 9s have traded in the $400-$500 range. Regardless, this card has tremendous potential for growth in the coming weeks, so what better place to store it than the eBay vault?

Autographed? Check. Team USA patch? Check. Match-worn? Check. PSA 10? Check.

Lastly, we have a relatively affordable, yet aesthetically pleasing rookie card. The purple refractor from 2018 Topps Chrome UEFA has a print run of 250 and a PSA 10 population of just 17. You can pick up one of these rookies for $275-$350 on eBay right now.
