'Armored Core 6' Release Date: Story, Gameplay, and More

Armored Core IV takes place on a planet called "Rubicon 3." The human race ends up discovering a new essential energy source referred to as "Coral," which is noted as something that could greatly improve humanity's technological capabilities. Chaos ensues when Coral ends up becoming the cause of a calamitous event known as "The Fires of Ibis," which results in Rubicon 3 becoming engulfed in flames and leading to the nearby star system getting caught up in the ensuing fire. After a half-century of waiting for those fires to calm down, humanity makes another bid at claiming Coral. As an Armored Core pilot and mercenary that works for a handler codenamed "Walter," you'll take on assorted tasks for different groups that fight for control of that rediscovered crucial substance.

Armored Core fans know what to look forward to here. For FromSoftware fans that took note of the studio because of its Soulsbourne games, here's the gist of what this game will entail. Players will get the opportunity to customize their very own Armored Core mechs, which can be outfitted with four weapon slots (with one in each arm and two equipped on the mech's back). They'll be able to take flight and engage in omnidirectional battles with other mechs across expansive locales. Players can also look forward to clashing with massive bosses, which is a signature trait of FromSoftware's latest and greatest games. Armored Core VI will primarily focus on giving players assorted missions where credits are awarded to them upon successful completion. Those credits will go into obtaining new parts and weapons for your Armored Cores. Thankfully, players won't have any credits taken away from them should they fail any mission.
