Everything You Need to Know About The Xbox Series X and Series S
A guide to get you started
Microsoft Xbox Series X ($499) and Microsoft Xbox Series S ($299)
For starters, if you haven’t already made your choice on which console you want, you will have the option of purchasing either the Series X or the Series S. Similar to the upcoming PlayStation 5 release (which is scheduled to launch on November 12th), you will get to choose between the actual hardware version (the X), or the all digital version (the S), with the Series X retailing for $499, and the Series S going for $299.
Xbox All Access
Now with the Xbox, you can choose to purchase each game individually, however, it may be best to invest in Xbox All Access. As a member of the All Access program, you will get your choice of either Series X or Series S, and 24 months of the Xbox Game Pass experience. For those that don't know, Game Pass is a Microsoft video game subscription where you will get access to all of the Xbox Live Gold benefits.
As another part of the ‘ultimate game pass experience,’ you will get additional access to over 100 games to play on your console as well as your PC. Also included in the package is the EA Play Membership which gives you the ability to play more than 60 of EA’s biggest games, and last but not least, you will also receive over 100 games to play on the cloud. With all of those features, it would be hard to turn down the Access Program, especially since you only have to pay $24.99 a month if you get the Series S, and $34.99 a month if you get the Series X.
Games to Buy
Whether you choose the Game Pass or the standard option of purchasing as you go, you may be wondering what games you can look forward to. For starters, the long awaited Halo Infinite will be available in 2021., as well as other games such as Forza Motorsport, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, will also be available to play at launch. Gamers will also have access to the thousands of games released across the four generations of Xbox, expanded storage space, 4K gaming with up to 120 frames per second, and 8K High Dynamic Range.
Now that you have the details, the next step is actually getting your Xbox. For starters, you can order through the official Xbox website, or you can choose to purchase from retail locations such as Walmart, Best Buy, Amazon, Target, and more.
While there is still so much more to expect in the coming weeks and months with this newest Xbox launch, there’s also plenty to enjoy right now. For now, Happy Xbox Day!
