Danny Towers is a Florida rapper who's well-worth your attention. Through solo songs and features, he's proven time and time again that he's a force to be reckoned with in the music game. Danny's demonstrated quite an ability to make immersive music of all varieties, making it all the more exciting to be a dedicated fan of his.

Wifisfuneral is no stranger to the Florida rap scene. After all, he's been one of the state's top contenders for a while now, developing a reputation of creating intricate, evocative music in the rap genre.

Luh Tyler has had an incredible year, to say the least. Touring the globe, making his XXL debut, and even more - all before graduating high school. This is just scratching the surface of Luh Tyler's impressive career.

He hasn’t been anything close to a rapper’s rapper in the purest sense for a while, but there’s space in the culture for more than that. Flo Rida is a giant when it comes to crossing over with Pop music and for that, plus his 80 million records sold worldwide, he deserves applause.

He came into the game as Trick Daddy Dollars and dropped the Dollars early on. He was well known in the 1990s, but really crossed over with "I’m A Thug" and has since solidified himself as a staple in the game and as one of the most influential Florida rappers of all time.

Pronounced GLOCK 9, 9lokkNine was one of the most promising Florida rappers. Still in his early 20s, he doesn’t have quite the deep discography that most on this list do, but he made an impact in the short time that he was active. Right now, he’s serving time for identity theft and possession of unregistered firearms.

The SoundCloud era of Hip-Hop was one that was looked down upon by many, but years later, it’s safe to say it produced rappers that stayed around longer than people expected. Smokepurpp isn’t necessarily the poster child of that, but he’s had a better career than a lot of people regardless. He also helped push his friend Lil Pump into rapping too.

A fun fact about Robb Bank$ is that he’s the son of Shaggy. Yeah, that Shaggy helped create a buzzing Florida rappers. Bank$ hasn’t relied on that to carve out his career though, which is easy to appreciate. His lyrics contain a lot of anime references, which along with his tonal delivery, make for an eclectic combination.

Like Flo Rida, Pitbull is the kind of rapper that a lot of Hip-Hop heads would turn their nose up at due to his sheer commercial success and the far-reaching kind of music he made in those years, but fans of the rapper will know that that’s not how he started out with his debut album M.I.A.M.I. or much of his earlier work.

Whatever you think of how Gunplay’s career has gone, he’s immortalized for his feature on ‘Cartoon & Cereal’ (which Kendrick Lamar admittedly wrote). Gunplay also delivered some stellar verses on big MMG cuts where he held his own amongst the likes of Ross, Wale, Meek and more.

One half of City Girls, Yung Miami has branched out in the last year or two with her Caresha Please podcast, but before that and her public relationship with Diddy, she was making a name for herself as part of the raunchy duo.

The other half of the City Girls, JT, lands a spot higher on this list, edging her Rap partner slightly with her superior lyrical ability. JT was crowned the Queen of Rap by Yung Miami a while ago and while that’s a tough position to get and hold at all, she has made a case for herself being in the conversation at various points in her career.

Lil Pump got a bad rap with some for ‘Gucci Gang’ and while that’s all a lot of people will know him from, the rapper has had a fairly successful career since then, certainly more than a lot would have expected. Like we mentioned earlier, Smokepurpp helped get him into the idea of rapping and he hasn’t looked back since.

You’d be forgiven for thinking Bobby Shmurda was born and raised in the Mecca, but the rapper was actually born in Miami, moving to East Flatbush when he was young. Of course, the four years he did in prison was a massive roadblock in his career, to put it mildly, but his 2014 run with ‘Hot N*gga’ and ‘Bobby B*tch’ was him on a rocket ship.

Sylvan LaCue started his career out as QuEST and most first heard of him with the release of Searching Sylvan, which dropped under Visionary Music Group. He’s now an indie rapper with a great core fan base and a bunch of great mixtapes and albums under his belt, including but not limited to his Florida Man tape from 2018.

Trina has had a legendary career the spans more than two decades and she definitely doesn’t get enough credit for how influential she was to an entire generation of rappers in general, but of course especially women.

Ma$e and his family moved to Harlem, New York when he was young, but the rapper was actually born in Jacksonville, Florida. Of course, he’s been a part of some of the biggest and most beloved Hip-Hop records of all time, including but not limited to ‘Mo Money, Mo Problems’, ‘Been Around The World’ and ‘Can’t Nobody Hold Me Down’.

Ski Mask The Slump God is not everyone’s cup of tea, but he’s probably well aware of that. Of course, there are more ways to be a good rapper than delivering double entendre after double entendre. What Ski Mask does best is in his delivery and flow, which is charismatic and tongue-in-cheek.

If we’re talking rappers that do insane streaming numbers, Rod Wave’s name might not come up in the conversation, but it should. He boasts the 2021 Billboard Award for Top New Artist and has lived up to the name, selling impressive amounts of albums first week and multiple #1 albums.

Fort Myers’ Plies started out as a wide receiver for the Miami RedHawks in 1996 and 1997, before dropping out of college and pursuing music, which it’s safe to say paid off. Today, Plies is respected as an OG, despite not delivering an album since 2010. At least every couple of years, Plies finds an organic way to end up back at the forefront of our minds and that’s to be applauded.

The YNW Melly story hasn’t ended the way anyone would have hoped, but that only makes the work he did in his time as an active rapper all the more impressive. Admittedly, the career has arguably been marred slightly in hindsight, but ‘Murder On My Mind’ and Kanye West collaboration ‘Mixed Personalities’ live on regardless.

If you only know Ace Hood from ‘Hustle Hard’ and ‘Go N Get It’, you probably have no idea how deep his catalogue goes. Lyrically, he’s one of the better rappers out of Florida rapper but of course, has had his fair share of commercial success too, despite the issues with DJ Khaled’s We The Best imprint.

Denzel Curry stands out on this list because he’s unapologetic about his roots and reps where he’s from, but his content is definitely a left turn from most on this list. Curry got his start in music with his Curry Wuz Here mixtape, which was influenced by and eventually promoted by SpaceGhostPurpp. Since then, he’s built a career from himself off of quality bodies of work time and time again, plus an incredible ‘Bulls On Parade’ cover to show his versatility.

He wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but for an entire generation of teenagers, XXXTentacion was a famous friend and a voice amongst chaos. Their 2Pac, as many described it when he was murdered a few years ago. His music has truly lived on beyond him and he has a dedicated enough, cult-like fan base, that it’s not going anywhere either. Whatever you thought of him while he was here, you remember your first time hearing ‘Look At Me!’

Kodak Black has often let controversy dictate his life, but anyone who’s spent real time with his music will know that he’s undeniably one of the greatest Florida rappers out there. From ‘Tunnel Vision’ ‘til now, Kodak has cemented himself a spot on Florida’s Mt. Rushmore. 

It’s only right that the Biggest Boss tops off this list. His career has spanned a few different eras with him remaining relevant throughout and he’s always let you know where he’s from too. Outside of his own hits, he’s assembled one of the biggest and best crews in Hip-Hop with MMG and his business acumen speaks for itself. For all of that (and some of those ostentatious verses), he wears the crown.
