It's officially been 40 years since the release of Madonna's debut album (which was boldly an eponymous one considering she was a brand new artist at the time), which means we're celebrating 40 years of an all time music and entertainment legend. Or as Beyoncé would probably say—40 years of Queen Mother. Let's make something very clear—Madonna's stats are not to be f*cked with—over 300 million records sold worldwide making her the best-selling female recording artist of all time, she is the most successful solo artist in the history of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Chart, she has generated over a billion in concert tickets sold making her the highest-grossing female touring artist worldwide, and of course, she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008 on her first year of eligibility.
