At Cannes 2018, singer and businessman Akon announced Akoin, a new cryptocurrency (a.k.a. digital currency) to "stimulate and support youth entrepreneurship, economic stability and growth in Africa."
The aim is to build the world's first "100% crypto-centric city" that he and his team are describing as a "real-life Wakanda." Wakanda, of course, is the fictional city in Marvel's Black Panther. Can you believe? Akonda forever!?!?
