Oh, Pixar how you have delivered some of our most favorite animated movies of all time. Since the release of Toy Story in 1995, Pixar films have been a part of our childhoods, teenage years, and even our lives as adults. Think about it—for every Pixar film, there's a significant moment in your life that you can connect to it. For example, you may very well remember your first time ever seeing Finding Nemo (even if you weren't alive during its debut) and how it made you feel. If you're a 2000s kid, you also probably have very clear memories of the first time you saw Monsters, Inc, The Incredibles, and Cars, and how it rocked your world at the time. For me personally, I have very fond of memories of watching Monsters, Inc with my cousins at one of our regular sleepovers, and going with those same cousins on opening day to watch The Incredibles in 2004. Simply put, Pixar has represented a vivid and nostalgic part of our love for animation. We're going to be taking a look at all 27 Pixar movies and ranking them from... best to greatest—there's really been no "bad" Pixar film.
Whether it's the Toy Story franchise or one-off films like 1998's A Bugs Life, these are absolutely classic movies that we're glad are forever immortalized for new generations to always discover. Also, shoutout to Pixar for being the ones to introduce CGI animation—that was a major game-changer for animated films that very much deserves its own discussion.
