Everything We Know About 'Challengers': Trailer, Release Date, Cast and More

As of right now, Challengers is set to release later this year on September 15th 2023 to close out the summer.

A challenger event in tennis is basically the entry level of the professional tour circuit. For a professional tennis player, having to play in a challenger event is actually a step backwards, which is indicative of Art's struggles.

The trailer appears to show a love triangle as Tashi herself was previously a professional tennis player, which is how she initially met Art in the first place. During that time period there’s another tennis player, Patrick, that is on the same professional circuit as Tashi and Art, and the three appear to have engaged in a threesome at some point. Fast forward to present day, Art is back to the basics participating in the challenger event, and guess who’s on the circuit? If you guessed Patrick, you guessed correctly. Awkward.

As we mentioned earlier, Zendaya will star as Tashi Donaldson. Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor will star as Art and Patrick respectively.
