Topps NOW Is Changing the Way Fans Collect Cards

The limited-edition collectible celebrates the 2019 World Series

For baseball fans (Houston Astros and Washington Nationals fans in particular), the 2018-2019 MLB season featured a tremendous amount of storybook moments—from Pete Alonso's home run record to the MLB debuts of future superstars Fernando Tatis Jr. and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. The postseason has been no different, with Howie Kendrick's decisive extra-innings grand slam to knock out the Dodgers and José Altuve's pennant-sealing walk-off against the Yankees. These are plays that will be remembered as all-time MLB moments, and should be commemorated as such.

That's where Topps comes in.

As part of the Topps NOW program, the brand is creating new limited edition collectible cards, only available for 24 hours after each World Series game. With trading cards picking up steam as assets in their own right, Topps NOW is giving collectors and casual fans a chance to get in on the trend on the ground floor. These cards are not only a great way to celebrate the biggest moments of the World Series, but also an innovative approach for the enterprising collector to pick up something rare (virtually every card Topps has produced this postseason is a covetable item that sold out immediately).

In recent weeks, Topps has unveiled collectibles such as a card featuring part of a base used in Game 5 of Dodgers-Nationals (the very game where Kendrick made postseason history). Relic cards like these quickly gain value. In 2016, a base from the All-Star Game immediately fetched five times its value in resale. These premium inserts move the needle for fans and collectors alike; owning a small piece of the action is a valuable commodity. With superstars like Altuve and Stephen Strasburg involved in the Fall Classic, the prospect of collecting Topps Now's drops has never been more exciting.

In case you're still questioning, let us reiterate: Topps NOW’s limited-edition World Series cards will only be available for 24 hours, the day after the completion of each World Series game. These cards bottle the energy of the moment like no other collectible, and the World Series is a string of timeless moments.

Whether you're a fan, a collector or both, don't miss this chance to score one of the rarest cards on the planet.
