For the second time in WWE history, WrestleMania is going Hollywood! If you guys were around back in 2005, then you can definitely recall all those comical spoofs of iconic movie scenes that put WWE Superstars in the place of "Tinseltown's" most prominent actors. To regain the big screen spirit that was intact during the build to WrestleMania 21, WWE is going big with a bunch of new movie skits and prepping fans for another spectacular event. WrestleMania 39 is embracing the glitz and glamour of Hollywood once again by emanating from the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Across two nights (April 1 and 2), WWE will provide fans with another majestic PLE (Premium Live Event) that'll feature the biggest and brightest stars in wrestling today. Before we get to WWE's biggest show, let me offer my extensive (AND USUALLY RIGHT!) WrestleMania 39 predictions.

WWE WrestleMania 39: Matches and Predictions
WWE WrestleMania 39 Predictions
Night 1 - April 1
Austin Theory (c) vs. John Cena (WWE United States Championship)
Preview & Predictions: Austin Theory's biggest inspiration will and always will be John Cena. After making his way up the indies through EVOLVE, further climbing the ladder in NXT, and making a splash on the main roster as the current United States Champion, Theory is finally getting the chance to square off with his hero. Cena has a packed schedule now that he's one of Hollywood's most sought-after actors, but he made sure to put away some time to compete on the 'Mania stage. To see him vie for the title he enjoyed an amazing run with back in 2015 at this current time is so dope.
What's even doper is the fact that Cena is attempting to claim it while having to clash with one of WWE's hottest young prospects. Theory has shown that he put on a banger with damn near anybody, plus we all know Cena shows up big-time whenever he makes a rare return to the squared circle. These two are going to produce one of the best bouts over the course of 'Mania weekend. And in the end, Theory will reach another plateau in his career when he decisively overcomes his idol. So for this major matchup, my WrestleMania 39 predictions are pointing to Theory retaining his US Championship over a bonafide WWE megastar.
Seth "Freakin" Rollins vs. Logan Paul
Preview & Predictions: Since stepping into his new role as a professional wrestler, Logan Paul has made me and everyone else a believer! The dude is simply a natural that looks like he's been doing this wrestling thing for years! So far, Paul has put on better-than-expected matches with the likes of Rey & Dominik Mysterio, The Miz, and Roman Reigns. Now he's set to lock up with arguably the best wrestler in WWE today - Seth Rollins.
These two guys are easily gonna dish out another Match of the Year candidate from this show and have the crowd come unglued during their jaw-dropping acrobatic sequences. Logan is such a hateable guy, so the 'Mania 39 crowd will undoubtedly be in Seth's corner for this dream match. Rollins is due for a "top title challenger" run post-'Mania, which is why my WrestleMania 39 predictions are pointing to him prevailing over Logan and parlaying that win into one of his biggest runs to date.
Trish Stratus, Lita, and Becky Lynch vs. Damage CTRL (Bayley, Dakota Kai, and Iyo Sky)
Preview & Predictions: The Attitude Era's two biggest female Superstars are back in the swing of things during WrestleMania season. And what makes the comebacks of Trish Stratus and Lita extra enticing is their alignment with Becky Lynch to take on the trio of Bayley, Dakota Kai, and Iyo Sky aka "Damage CTRL." The ladies of WWE are getting the spotlight shown on them in a major way for this year's 'Mania and this is the first of three matches that'll let the ladies go all out. As for who I think will win this six-woman tag team match, Becky, Trish, and Lita shall prevail. I'm definitely hedging my bets on Becky pinning Bayley, which will lead to the ultimate dissolution between Damage CTRL as Dakota and Iyo will lose all confidence in their once fearless leader after such a devastating loss.
Braun Strowman and Ricochet vs. The Viking Raiders (Erik and Ivar) vs. The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) vs. Alpha Academy (Chad Gable and Otis) (Men's WrestleMania Showcase Fatal Four-Way Tag Team Match)
Preview & Predictions: So we got two teams from Raw and two from SmackDown going to war in this so-called "WrestleMania Showcase." That's cool - I'm guessing the winners will be next up to get a shot at the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions coming out of this show. This might sound cruel, but The Viking Raiders and Alpha Academy are non-factors regarding WWE's overall tag team division.
When I look at The Street Profits and Braun Strowman and Ricochet, they're the only two teams I see as viable choices for winners here. I'm going to go out on a limb here and go with the random big guy/small guy duo since they're a fresher combination compared to the other long-running teams here. Plus I feel like WWE is gonna throw us for a loop here and surprise folks by awarding Strowman and Ricochet a surprising victory to give them both a cool WrestleMania moment.
Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Rhea Ripley (WWE SmackDown Women's Championship)
Preview & Predictions: As I mentioned previously, Rhea Ripley wants to run it back with Charlotte Flair and wrest away her prized SmackDown Women's Championship. Charlotte was the one that relinquished Rhea of her NXT Women's Championship back in 2020 and stalled her momentum at the time. Rhea has been steadily getting back to a place in her career as one of the very best thanks to her association with her stablemates in The Judgment Day. And thanks to her victory during this year's Women's Royal Rumble, Rhea has earned the opportunity to run into WWE's resident "Queen" on the 'Mania stage once again. The continued rehabbing of Rhea will kick into overdrive here when she finally defeats Charlotte for the SmackDown Women's Championship and right the wrong that was done to her at 'Mania 36.
The Usos (Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso) (c) vs. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn (Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship)
Preview & Predictions: WE ALL KNEW THIS ONE WAS COMING! Once Sami Zayn got kicked out of The Bloodline and destroyed by his former brethren alongside Kevin Owens, everyone felt that those two would reunite and make a play for The Usos tag team titles. As soon as Jey Uso turned on Sami and Owens came to Zayn's aid to beat back the rest of The Bloodline, I said, "this tag team match better get the main event on Night 1!"
Out of all my WrestleMania 39 predictions, this is the safest one to put together - Zayn and Owens are definitely walking out of this show with the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship. It makes too much sense to have Zayn finally get his biggest WWE moment to date and get what he deserves as one of the biggest babyfaces on the roster by having him win the titles with his best friend/mortal enemy. We're going to get a supremely happy ending here with Zayn and Owens standing tall with both tag team belts held up high.
Rey Mysterio vs. Dominik Mysterio
Preview & Predictions: Imagine you're Rey Mysterio in 2023 - not only are you finally getting your rightful induction into the WWE Hall of Fame, but you're also competing at WrestleMania against your very own son. That's the true definition of goals, right there. Dominik Mysterio has really come into his own as The Judgment Day's smarmy, bratty high-flyer that constantly antagonizes his legendary father. For weeks, Dom has poked at his pops and asked for a match. But at first, Rey denied his request.
But now that Rey Rey has been pushed to the very edge, he's now accepted his son's challenge for a match at 'Mania. I feel like Rey is going to be very giving here since his days are winding down and the future of the Mysterio name now lies in his son's continued ascension. I'm predicting a Dominik victory here via heel tactics that will take him to the very next stage of his burgeoning career.
Night 2 - April 2
Brock Lesnar vs. Omos
Preview & Predictions: Here I was thinking that Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley were going to end their (honestly disappointing...) feud on a high note with a big gimmick match at 'Mania 39. Sadly, Brock has been pushed into a big-man bout with Omos while Lashley is trapped within the ultimate WWE finisher - a horrible spooky feud with Bray Wyatt. As for this match, I know for a fact that it won't go longer than five minutes and it'll feature a total of five to six moves exchanged between both men. Omos is gonna eat a single F5, Brock is gonna pin him for the win, and everyone will rejoice because this clash of the giants ended up being short and sweet.
Bianca Belair (c) vs. Asuka (WWE Raw Women's Championship)
Preview & Predictions: I was sooooooooo ready to watch Bianca Belair put on another 'Mania banger with one of her old NXT rivals Rhea Ripley. But to my surprise, Rhea decided to challenge her 'Mania 36 nemesis Charlotte Flair instead. Now Bianca has to defend her WWE Raw Women's Championship against a version of Asuka that's slightly more unhinged than usual. And for someone that has been watching Asuka since her days as the vicious "Kana," this gimmick change is a welcome one that takes me back to her deadliest persona. Bianca has enjoyed quite an impressive and lengthy run as Raw Women's Champion since winning it at last year's 'Mania 38, but now I think Asuka's mind games and extra level of fierceness will prove to be too much for the champ to handle. Asuka is leaving with the belt here!
Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez vs. Natalya and Shotzi vs. Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler vs. Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville (Women's WrestleMania Showcase Fatal Four-Way Tag Team Match)
Preview & Predictions: I get the feeling that the winner of this match will go on to win the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship shortly after this match concludes. And to be honest, there's only one team that stands out as a legit threat. And you all know which one that is, good people - my WrestleMania 39 predictions are clearly pointing towards a Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler win. It's going to be pretty hilarious when a team that didn't even have to qualify for this match will be the one to emerge victorious.
Edge vs. Finn Bálor (Hell in a Cell Match)
Preview & Predictions: Man, this whole Judgment Day deal has been going strong since last year's 'Mania! Damian Priest gave Edge an assist via "intense staring" and helped him pull off a big win over AJ Styles on the biggest stage of them all. Ever since then, fans have been treated to some shocking twists and turns that have resulted in Edge getting exiled from the group and new leadership arriving in the form of Finn Bálor. Now the former and current leaders of WWE's gothic stable are looking to bring this longstanding feud to an end in the most demonic structure of them all - THE HELL...IN A CELL!
I'm very much looking forward to Edge dishing out another HIAC classic that's on the same level as the one he had with Seth Rollins back at Crown Jewel 2021. Finn definitely has it in him to dole out an awesome performance here, especially since Edge goes all out to produce greatness in this match format against anyone that's put in there against him. Edge has mainly gotten the upper hand on The Judgment Day for the longest time now. And that leads me to believe that Finn will find a way to right all those past wrongs and finally get a decisive victory over the WWE Hall of Famer.
With my prediction of Rhea leaving this show as the new SmackDown Women's Champion, it only makes sense to me that Finn also wins big and helps raise his stable's stock even more for the post-'Mania season.
Gunther (c) vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus (Triple Threat Match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship)
Preview & Predictions: Now this is going to be as barbaric as it comes! What we have here are three big boys that employ extra stiff levels of offense and do a great job of grounding their opponents into dust by the time the final bell rings. I'm already imagining Gunther, Drew McIntyre, and Sheamus chopping, kicking, and slamming the hell out of each other in front of a crowd wincing at every landed blow and bright red chest.
Gunther has maintained a vice grip over the IC Championship since June 10, 2022, and it would make sense for his reign to keep going strong to help him reach an even longer record when it comes to total days as champion. But my WrestleMania 39 predictions are pointing to a joyous moment occurring where Sheamus gets the winning pin over McIntyre and finally realizes his dream of holding the IC Championship for the very first time.
Roman Reigns (c) vs. Cody Rhodes (Undisputed WWE Universal Championship)
Preview & Predictions: WE'RE FINALLY GETTING IT! The "American Nightmare" is going head-to-head with WWE's dominant "Tribal Chief" in a match that everyone expected as soon as Cody Rhodes was announced to be entering this year's Men's Royal Rumble Match. No one was surprised when he won the 30-man battle royal, so now everyone is looking forward to watching Cody put on a main event classic with the great Roman Reigns. Reigns has "reigned" as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion for an amazingly long period of time and has put away most of WWE's most formidable contenders.
To be honest, Cody is truly the only major challenger left that's viable and believable enough to do the unthinkable - and that's defeating Reigns right in the middle of his most dominant WWE run. Coming back from a severe injury, winning this year's Men's Royal Rumble match, and heading into 'Mania 39 with the story of wanting to win WWE's top prizes in honor of his father Dusty Rhodes all add up to a scenario where I just can't see Cody taking a loss here. Cody's gonna leave us all with a happy ending filled with fireworks and confetti as he leaves 'Mania 39 as the new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion!
Out of all my WrestleMania 39 predictions, I'm most confident in this one coming to fruition.
