The 7 Best Black Friday Deals on Amazon You Need to Check Out
Exploding Kittens
Recommended by Trey Taylor // Senior Editor
While I cannot vouch for this personally, having never played it, Exploding Kittens seems right in my wheelhouse, as a lover of both kittens and controlled explosions. Watching the Kosciuszko Bridge come down is a masterclass in planned destruction, and safe for all parties involved. What is not safe is playing a card game based on Russian roulette. Except everyone can easily get into this game. Between two and five players can draw cards until you draw an Exploding Kitten, which foists you out of the game; however, if you have a defuse card, you survive. Defuse cards are things like laser pointers or catnip sandwiches, which lull the cat into a false sense of security. Heh Heh. Nice try, pussy!
Sony XBR65X850F 65-Inch 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV
Recommended by Conor Sheeran // Associate Managing Editor
If there's one thing that I love doing, it's watching TV. While endlessly binging episodes of a new show, an amazing TV is an absolute necessity because what's the point of watching something if it doesn't look right? Thankfully, Amazon has decided to bless us with an incredible deal on Sony's 65-Inch 4K Smart TV. Take it from someone that spends a lot of time on the couch, 4K is the real deal and once you watch it, you'll never look back. Do yourself a favor and take advantage of this deal now before you miss your chance.
Nintendo Switch + Mario Kart
Recommended by: Corban Goble // Strength Editor
The Nintendo Switch knows precisely what it is. It plays to its strengths. In the post-console landscape we live in, that is refreshing. The gaming-on-the-go works better than you think it should, and Nintendo’s Switch store is a repository for great indie games as well as Nintendo’s exclusive properties, which are soon to include Super Smash Brothers Ultimate.
Yeah, $299 is a lot to spend if you’re console-agnostic. But if you were ever once charmed by Nintendo’s whimsical, idiosyncratic culture, the Switch is a worthy torch-bearer. Nintendo is not in the habit of marking these guys down, so grab it at the lowest price point it’s likely ever to go and get an absolute slapper of a Mario Kart installment, Mario Kart 8, tossed in.
Three Months of Kindle Unlimited
Recommended by: Madison Russell // Editorial Resident
I'm a minimalist, but there is one thing I hoard: Books. There exists no better hybrid for extensive amounts of literature plus zero space imprint than Kindle Unlimited. The monthly subscription provides unlimited access to millions of books, magazines, and even audiobooks through a Kindle device or app. Read guilt-free knowing you can return the item with the click of a button.
I was a naysayer to the Kindle ways, too. The smell of an old book is indescribable. But, accessing millions of book titles in the palm of your hand surpasses that. Typically $10 per month, you can snag Amazon's Black Friday promotion and get three months of unlimited books for one dollar. Please note, the entire Harry Potter series is available for download...

Save up to 40 percent on Philips Hue Smart Lighting
Recommended by: Ryan Haney // Social Editor
Mood lighting is severely underrated. I have no scientific data to back this up, but parties get 3000 percent better the second you dim the lights. With the Philips Hue system, you no longer have to worry about burning down your apartment building because the nylon scarf you tossed over your lampshade catches on fire. Just open up your app, play around with your sliders, and watch your living room transform into a dimly lit speakeasy.
