The Nike React Element 87 is one of the most popular sneakers on the market right now and has been since it was adopted into the kits of streetwear fanatics and celebrities around the globe last summer. A staple in sneaker rotations, this shoe’s versatile shape is a styling essential in many different wardrobes. Drake, Jordan Clarkson and Kevin Durant are among the many icons who are wearing the React Element 87s.
Years ago, the leading sneaker trend was all about iterations of the Adidas Ultraboost, where every color offering the brand produced would sell out almost instantly. However, after debuting on the runways at Paris Fashion Week in 2018, the React Element 87 was quick to dethrone the Boost. Borrowing design elements from heritage running styles, the shoe adds in ’90s-inspired colors and React cushioning technology that makes this shoe just as comfortable as it is fashionable.
Developed by Nike Sportswear’s special projects team, the main focus was to figure out how to maximize cushioning. Configured with pressure-mapped zones that cushion where it’s needed most, the shoe is made of a contemporary TPE yarn textile.
Here, Drake, Clarkson and Durant are embracing the shoe’s versatility, making compelling arguments for how the React Element 87 can be worn.
