The history of rapper-owned clothing brands dates back to the late 1990s and early 2000s when we saw the likes of Diddy and Jay-Z developing their brands—Sean John and Rocawear, respectively—and experiencing success amongst the masses. In the years that have followed, more and more rapper clothing brands have popped up as fashion and hip hop go hand-in-hand. Many artists in the rap community are regularly highlighted and recognized for their sense of fashion, and so the natural next step in the 2010s and 2020s has kind of been to either develop your own fashion line, or become the face of a brand (which a lot of times eventually turns into a clothing line).

That said, we’ve put together a solid list of rappers-owned clothing brands for you to check out and support. Scroll down to see the ones we selected.
