Shane Gonzales Launches Midnight Studios' Season 0

Hot off of his first ever runway show, Shane Gonzales has launched the Season 0 collection for his brand, Midnight Studios. Entitled "Welcome to the Machine," the first collection ranges from $175-$2,000 and includes pieces punctuated by nuanced detail, like custom beading and leather piping. Midnight Studios is well known for its collections and pieces released over the past few years, in addition to the previous collaborations and pop ups under the Midnight Rave moniker. But in 2022, Shane produced his first ever runway show and is now releasing a SS22 collection hot off the heels of a watershed moment in the burgeoning designer's career.

A lot of Midnight Studios' previous work highlighted graphic tee shirts and took cues from traditional streetwear, but in the Season 0 collection, Shane turns to elements of suiting, tailoring and a more elevated style, anchored by the same motifs and themes that have coursed through much of his previous work.

“At the beginning of my career, I gave myself over to the fashion industry. The pandemic allowed me to take a step back and focus on my artistic views and the integrity of the brand. Over the last two years, I was able to create the collection I’ve always imagined, without sacrificing my ideas and visions. This is the Midnight Studios I always intended for the world to see,” Shane says of the collection.

Mohair is an increasingly popular knitwear material, and Shane incorporates a faux mohair masterfully into the collection. The launch also includes the brand's first ever handbag, which looks like a boombox as an homage to Midnight Studios' musical roots.
