• What happens/what it teased: Mike and Sully attempting a musical

Let's face it—none of us really wanted Monsters Inc. to be over because as I like to point out so often—we never did end up getting a sequel for it (at least not yet). The ending credits already had a fun tune, so it was nice seeing Mike and Sully make an actual musical about the movie we all had just gotten done watching. Because who wouldn't want to see Mike and Sully portraying themselves in a chaotic play that was about...themselves. It was a brilliant idea honestly. Now about that sequel Pixar. If you can do a prequel, you can definitely do a sequel. And it needs to be before those of us who were kids when the movie came out are super old.

• What happens/what it teased: Carmen and Junie on an operation as pop stars

Sorry, but this is going on the list. As if Floop's "who, what, where, when, and why" wasn't enough to get stuck in your head. Carmen (Alexa Vega) turning into a Britney Spears-like pop star to perform her rendition really got the track playing over and over again in your mind. Junie (Daryl Sabara) busting out the guitar solo was dope, and it was even cooler how it was revealed that it was actually them doing the sick performance—not the machine they thought was controlling them. Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams is always worth a rewatch in our opinion.

• What happens/what it teased: William Windom looking at the pictures Neil wanted him to look at

It might not seem like much, but Planes, Trains, and Automobiles is such a classic that we had to include this in our list. As we all know, Neal Page was a little over high-strung/over the top at times, but there was a specific set of pictures that he wanted an advertising executive to look at in it's entirety over the film, and during the post-credit scene the exec finishes looking at all the photos. Again, it isn't much, but there's something about the scene that's poignant and fun.

• What happens/what it teased: A potential X-Men future in the MCU

Marvel entry number one. While The Marvels may not have delivered the best reviews from critics and box office response, its post-credit scene is an important one because it seems to confirm what's been rumored for a long time—that the X-Men squad is seemingly going to make an appearance in the MCU. The Marvels post-credit scene showcases Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) waking up in a hospital room. There she's greeted by two people—a variant of her mother (which seems like that it's going to be a whole storyline within itself), and Beast aka Hank McCoy (Kelsey Grammar) from X-Men. There's no way that the X gang isn't going to be incorporated in the future with this brief appearance from Beast, which means we've got some stuff to look forward to.

• What happens/what it teased: Mini-Me talks/flirts with Britney Spears

Yeah baby! We didn't just get Beyoncé as Foxxy Cleopatra in Goldmember, we also got Britney Spears as well for double the star power. We had to include the post-credit scene Austin Powers in Goldmember cause Mini-Me actually believed he had the power to pull Britney Spears throughout the movie and post-credit scene, and as much of an odd-pairing the two seemed to be at first, Britney actually appears to be taken with him. We won't go as far as saying "in love" because that's a bit much, but "taken" seems appropriate. Hey, shooting your shot works sometimes.

• What happens/what it teased: Lucy attempts to go back to Narnia

The Chronicles of Narnia is actually the first film I can recall actively waiting after the credits to watch as a kid. The movie was so magical and enthralling that even when the end credits were rolling you still didn't feel like it was all the way done. Sure enough, Lucy attempts to go back to Narnia through the wardrobe and doesn't get through. For all intents and purposes, Narnia has seemingly disappeared to which Professor Kirke tells her that she'll see Narnia again when "she least expects it."After the two leave, the wardrobe opens and you hear a roar. Sure enough, we did end up seeing Narnia again with 2008's Prince Caspian, which was the official follow-up.

• What happens/what it teased: The Grandmaster gets confronted

Marvel entry number two. We're all in agreement that Thor: Ragnarok is the best in the Thor series correct? That means we can put the post-credit scene for Ragnarok as one of the best in the MCU correct? In it, The overtaken Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) gets a little confrontation from the citizens of Sakaar to which The Grandmaster really isn't phased. In fact, there's an element of this "confrontation" that seems to be quite comical, which only adds to the hilarity and witty nature of the scene.

• What happens/what it teased: Kip and Lafawnduh

Admit it—you waited with bated breath to see what was going to happen with Kip and Lafawnduh as well. As it turns out, the post-credit scene revealed they actually ended up getting married. Not only that, but Kip actually wrote a song for Lafawnduh that he rapped/sang/whatever it was he trying to do at the altar. The song is so bad that it's actually good—and that's why it's totally worth waiting for the end credits to roll every. single. time.

• What happens/what it teased: The start of The Avengers

Marvel entry number three. The ending to Captain America: The First Avenger was pretty darn good (and also quite sad). Captain America (Chris Evans) essentially sacrifices himself for the greater good, and in the process of crashing his plane under ice, he's talking to the love of his life (Peggy). He awakens 70-odd years later in present day, but it's in the post-credit scene that we get our first film introduction to The Avengers squad, which was the start of something incredible.

• What happens/what it teased: Stan Lee appears to address all the Marvel fan theories

Marvel entry number four. Stan Lee appearances were (and still) are super fun as it becomes a Where's Waldo sort of thing, but in film fashion. In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Stan Lee appears in the post-credits to which Stan is telling all of these stories about his past, which in turn spawned another theory that he was the one that was actually The Watcher. That theory wound up being proven wrong, but it was fun while it lasted.

• What happens/what it teased: Professor X makes a comeback

We thought after everything that went down in The Last Stand that Professor X was gone for good, but in true Professor X fashion, he's actually not. The post-credit scene for The Last Stand shows a nurse treating a comatose patient. As it turns out, the patient is Professor X, and he awakens out of the coma he's in to start to talking to the nurse (who looks mortified by the way). Real X's don't ever die.

• What happens/what it teased: The introduction to Thanos

Marvel entry number five.Where were you when you got introduced to Thanos for the first time? Did you catch the post-credit scene in 2012 at the theater? Did you mistakenly leave as soon as the credits started rolling and not meet him until later? Did it take you some years to get into the MCU therefore you didn't meet him until years afterwards? Whatever category you fall into, the post-credit scene for The Avengers is where we met Thanos, and it was clear from that moment on that he was going to be a problem.

• What happens/what it teased: Bucky's life journey gets revealed

Marvel entry number 6. We can all agree that Winter Soldier is the best in the Captain America series (at least so far) correct? Well, that means we've got to put the post-credit scene for that one on here as well. The Bucky storyline is such an interesting one as you know he's evil, but there's a small part of you that feels a bit bad for him—like he became a product of his environment and circumstances. Most of us were already asking why he turned out the way he did, and we got our answer to that in this post-credit for Winter Soldier, which reveals his journey, what could have been, and what wasn't.

• What happens/what it teased: Ferris Bueller telling us to go home

I reckon that none of us have ever had a day off like the one Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick) had. That means the only thing we can do is continue to live through him in Ferris Bueller's Day Off. After a wild day full of events that only Ferris Bueller himself could experience, the camera cuts to Ferris with him delivering the iconic "It's over, go home." Easy for him to say when he had the most adventurous day ever.

• What happens/what it teased: Everybody kicking back and relaxing

Marvel number...we lost count. Anyway, what exactly happened in the Shawarma post-credit scene that set things up for the future? Absolutely nothing, and that's why it remains a favorite. A long day of kicking butt means you get rewarded with kicking back, chilling, and eating food with the homies. Well earned Avengers. Well earned.

• What happens/what it teased: The reveal of T'Challa's

As if Wakanda Forever wasn't emotional enough (specifically at the beginning and the end when the flashback clips of Chadwick were being played), it got even more emotional in the post-credit scene where it was revealed that T'Challa and Nakia (Lupita Nyong'o) had a son during the time of their relationship that they kept private from just about everyone. Shuri meets her nephew for the very first time, and while we aren't going too ahead of ourselves—lil man has to be taking the reigns at some point right?

• What happens/what it teased: We get introduced to Thor's hammer

Picture this—it's 2010, the MCU hasn't "officially" started yet, and you're in the theater watching Iron Man 2 just simply because you loved the first film so much. The end credits are rolling, and out of nowhere you see a humongous hammer drop in the middle of some desert. You're thinking to yourself—"what the hell is this?" Thor—that's what it was. Iron Man 2 was introducing us to Thor. Quite fun looking back in retrospect.

• What happens/what it teased: Nick Fury gets revealed as a skrull

It's not often that a post-credit scene shocks you, but I think it's safe to say Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) was a skrull probably takes the cake. It came out of nowhere, and you didn't have any real explanations or answers to your questions. You just kind of left the theater knowing that Nick Fury was a skrull, and it was something that stayed on your mind the rest of the day. Good times.

This darn pager had everybody scratching their heads and creating theories for almost a whole year until Captain Marvel was released, and for that reason alone, it remains iconic. We're not sure if anything else in the future will be able to recapture the exact feelings Nick Fury's pager evoked (only because times are a little bit different now), but at least it was something that many got to experience in real time.

• What happens/what it teased: Tony Stark and Nick Fury appear together for the first time

Picture this—it's the year 2008 (which was a pretty frickin cool year for action movies), and you're seeing Iron Man because it looks like it's going to be insane. You don't know what the Marvel Cinematic Universe is because it technically wasn't a thing yet as the development of a future "universe" hinged on the success of this film. It's safe to say that if Iron Man had been complete flop, the MCU as we know it today might not even exist. Back to 08—you watch this incredible movie and you're greeted with a post-credit scene that shows you Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and Nick Fury on screen for the very first time. If only you knew what was to come. If only you knew.
