Continuing what has been awesome 2023, Issa Rae stars Angela Young who is a hairstylist recovering from a bout with cancer and reintegrating back into her normal life. With big dreams of being an accomplished stylist, Young is a vibrant and devoted mother and partner. If you didn't get your introduction to Rae through the web series Awkward Black Girl, then you definitely got it through the highly popular show Insecure, which ran from 2016 to 2021.

Rae continues to take her producing, acting, writing, and entrepreneurship to new heights, and as we just mentioned, 2023 has been a huge year for her with prominent roles in the year's biggest movie, Barbie, and voicing the character Spider-Woman in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

You already know Kid Cudi for his groundbreaking work as an artist, producer, songwriter, and hit generator, but Young Love sees the Cudi in a very different role. The artist stars as Stephen Love, a music producer that's trying to get back on track to achieving his dreams of becoming of one of the best in the business. Acting wise, Cudi has quite a few acting credits to his name including the 2010 HBO series How to Make It in America, the 2014 film Need for Speed, and appearances in shows like One Tree Hill, The Cleveland Show, Entourage, and Empire.

10-year-old actress Brooke Monroe Conaway plays 6-year-old Zuri Young-Love, a precocious child full of energy, creativity, and talent. Conaway was introduced to the public by way of her viral Hip Hop and R&B music performance videos alongside her doting dad, and her other credits include an appearance in the TV series Love Life, and the film Soul Santa.

Loretta Devine is the warm, loving, and lovable grandma Gigi Young, who brings the wisdom and life lessons very much needed for all ages. Having starred in numerous on-screen and stage roles since the 1970s, some of Devine's most notable credits include the musical Dreamgirls, Waiting to Exhale, P-Valley, Doc McStuffins, and plenty more.

Grandpa Russell Young may be an old school grandpa that doesn't play any games, but like lots of other grandpas, Zuri is his soft spot. The role of Russell Young is played by Harry Lennix, who's recently been seen in Man of Steel, the Fox series Doll House, the HBO series Little Britain, the CW series Emily Owens, M.D., and more.

Critically-acclaimed singer and television personality Tamar Braxton from the dynamic Braxton family is the lively and fashionable character Star on Young Love. Braxton has achieved a lot of success in the entertainment industry with successful albums including the likes of 2013's Love and War and 2015's Calling All Lovers, along with starring in the We TV series Braxton Family Values from 2011 to 2020, and co-hosting the Fox daytime talk show The Real from 2013 to 2016 amongst other credits.
