While Margot Robbie's role in Asteroid City may have been relatively small, we'd say that her monologue was a show stealer for a couple of reasons, the main one being that you didn't know the character was actually Robbie until the close-up on her face, which presented a dynamic "reveal" moment. Asteroid City is a movie that's a lot to keep up with, but Robbie definitely did her thing for sure.

Together they come together in an act of bravery to expose Fox’s powerful CEO for sexual abuse, enduring the unwanted attention harassment that comes with it.

Starring Saoirse Ronan as Mary Queen of Scots and Robbie as Queen Elizabeth I, Mary Queen of Scots is about two Queens with a mutual respect and fear for one another who have to find a way to work together when Scotland and England fall under the same rule as they are also rivals in a world that is dominated by masculinity. The film’s screenplay is based on John Guy’s 2004 autobiography Queen of Scots: The True Life of Mary Stuart, with Robbie earning nominations for both a SAG and BAFTA Best Supporting Actress award.

About Time is one of those “you can’t have me” cat and mouse films that Robbie has become known for in her career thus far.

In 2015, Robbie starred in the apocalyptic film Z for Zachariah which is based on the 1974 novel of the same name. The story centers around a love triangle between a Black engineer (Chiwetel Ejiofor), a White woman (Robbie), and a White engineer (Chris Pine) who are also possibly the last remaining humans on Earth. Talk about an awkward situation. While the film didn’t perform that well at the box office, Margot did receive positive feedback for her performance, adding to her growing stardom.

We’re standing behind Amsterdam regardless of what the critics had to say about it. In our opinion it was a good movie, and Robbie played her role well which involved her dealing with health and memory issues. Sometimes it takes years (decades even) for certain films to be totally understood and given its due, and we hope one of these days that Amsterdam can be appreciated as such.

In 2015, Margot Robbie starred in the war drama Suite Française, which is about a lonely French woman (Michelle Williams) who starts a relationship with a German Soldier (Matthias Schoenaerts) while her husband is away at war, and chooses to do so at her mother-in-law's house. Margot Robbie’s character Celine comes into the picture as she is also one of the mother-in-law’s tenants with some secrets. However, when Celine’s secrets get exposed, she decides she isn’t going down by herself and decides to add more drama over top of the drama that’s already present. A mess. An interesting one, but still a mess.

Goodbye Christopher Robin tells the story of Winnie The Pooh author A.A. Milne as he and his family become swept up by his instant success and growing celebrity. Seeing as though Milne’s son Christopher Robin was the original source of inspiration behind his dad’s stories, the movie mostly focuses on him. However, Robbie does shine as the fictionalized version of Milne’s wife Daphne, earning positive reviews for her performance.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot is another that didn’t get the credit it deserves. Starring Tina Fey, the film was about a group of journalists on assignment in Kabul, Afghanistan. Tina Fey’s character Kim Barker is a bit frazzled as she obviously is taking on more than expected, and Robbie’s character Tanya Vanderpoel is there to help take her under her wing.

We knew it was only a matter of time before Harley Quinn got her own film, which came in 2020 with Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey. Fresh off a breakup from the Joker, Harley Quinn has to deal with a major target on her back courtesy of her bitter ex. Everyone from crime boss Black Mask to random criminals in the city are out to get Harley Quinn, but little do they know that she’s linked up with three other deadly women (Huntress, Black Canary, and Renee Montoya) who are more than ready to help her take on the challenge.

We don’t care what the ratings say. Suicide Squad was a fun movie, and Harley Quinn was one of the reasons why that was the case. All of the characters, literally criminals who were only “let out” because their services were needed, but Harley Quinn was a different kind of bad. Dangerous, daring, and witty. Influential as well considering just about every girl dressed up as Harley Quinn that Halloween.

A Quentin Tarantino project with an incredible ensemble cast that includes Margot Robbie, Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood is about Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) a 1950s actor that gained fame and fortune from starring in a television show, but is now struggling to book work and spends most of his days hanging with his buddy and longtime stunt double Cliff (Brad Pitt). Rick also just so happens to live next door to Roman Polanski and Sharon Tate (Robbie) whose lives are forever altered by members of the Manson family.

Though it was her ex-husband’s actions, the blame is put on Harding, as she becomes forever associated with one of the biggest scandals in sports history. The film earned Robbie a nomination for Best Actress at the 2018 Academy Awards, while also garnering great reviews from fans and critics alike.
